Hello

My 16 year old daughter has been newly diagnosed with AML and will need to have a bone marrow transplant. I would love to hear from anyone who has or is going through the same thing

    Hi Pat,
    I have never had cancer, but I have had some first hand experience with AML. MY brother was diagnosed with AML when he was 16 as well, he had a bone marrow transplant from someone off the Bone Marrow Donor list, nobody in my family was a match, it was rough for everybody, but I am happy to report that he has been in remission for almost 5 years, and his 21rst birthday is December 24th. He is doing great, just tell your daughter to stay positive and she will be fine. That’s one thing that I have to say really helped my brother, he was very positive throughout all of this treatments and he got though it no problem. Have you heard about caring bridge? It’s a really cool website were you can keep family and friends updated on your daughters diagnosis and people can leave her comments and things like that.     My 16 yr-old daughter has relapsed large b-cell media stinum lymphoma and we are also preparing for BMT sometime after the first of the year. She is very scared and it’s difficult to keep her positive. Email if you would like…
