The 2 cancers’ that I beat were rhabdomyosarcoma in my right jaw muscle and osteosarcoma above my left knee. I also received a blood transfusion after chemo with West Nile virus in it. I contracted West Nile Encephalitis and was a vegetable even unable to talk for 4 months. I had to relearn everything. So if anyone wants to talk about a bad hand dealt to them I am a great listener and I’m pretty sure I know how you are feeling.

Hey Guys! I’m new to this site so I thought I’d introduce myself.
My name is Rachel, and at 14 years old I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Since then, I’ve gone into remission and then relapsed, so I had to have a stem cell transplant. I’m now 18 and in remission as far as I know, but I just had a CT scan and I’m really nervous about the results. I have this horrible feeling that my cancer’s come back again. I’m trying to be positive but I don’t think I can go through this for a third time.
I just wish I could feel like a normal kid again.

I THROW MY ZOFRAN IN THE AIR SOMETIMES SAYING AAYYOO… WHERE’D THE BOX GO? This should be made a like on facebook, if you ask me. To confuse people.
If anybody on here is British, add me? If everyone here isn’t British, tell me to go drink tea and play croquet or whatever you think we do. And if you want someone to talk to (like there aren’t enough lovely people already) then add me.
LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF LUVVIN <3 <3
i hate having leukemia, i can’t do anything anymore. i can’t play baseball and i can’t play soccer. i can’t do what i used to do before all this happened, and worst of all i hate seeing my girlfriend suffer with me. she’s always trying to help me think positive ,but it’s very difficult to do when your in so much pain. Damn, i hate the fact that this is not only affecting me. but it is affecting her as well. why does this happen. !!!!!
I got my test results. They found two cysts in my groin. going to the ogyn (yuck) sometime next week. Hopefullly the pain will go away. I just want it to be next week.

My name is Quinton, and a couple of weeks ago I found out that I had ALL Leukemia cancer. It was all horrifying news to my family and myself; I’d never seen my mom and sister so upset and it was the first time I’d ever seen my dad cry. But so many people have been there to support us, it almost seems unreal. The faith and trust that we have in God and Jesus is just enriched in us with all of the prayers and scripture out onto heaven that have been bestowed into our lives though the Love of their support. I know that God has a purpose for all of us struggling though this harsh, unforgiving and cruel trial in our lives that no one deserves to go though. Its pretty unclear now though I know, because anyway you look at it, the chemo? the pain? the useless feelings? it all just sucks beyond belief. But always remember this; God will never allow any type of pain towards us that we can’t endure and become stronger from it. Just hang in there.

Hey guys mine names Meghan Im new to the site but I think its soooo great already! Im seventeen and Ive had a brain tumor(JPA) since I was six. (It was ten years this last September.) Ive gone though several rounds of chemo once when I was eight and now Im on Evastin and Iranitican(sp?). Several years ago the tumor on my spin grew severly and I was put in a wheelchair and had radiation. About a year and ALOT of therepy later I began walking again but Im still a huge kluts lol! I have a pretty lighthearted attitude about my cancer and make jokes about it all the time cuz thats just how I am. My only real problem I have is my physical appearence. I hate how short I am because of the radiation (4’9!) and my back has severe kyphosis and scoliosis. So because of these I have no luck with boys and that really gets to me some times. But other than that cancer is somethimg Ive lived with for so long I dont know any different so for me its no big deal.

I need to ask questions for my English coursework, so if you wouldn’t mind, answering them would be a big help. SO
Have you used Macmillan cancer support?
If you have, did they help?
Have you had anything to do with cancer research?
cheers x

Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Survivor

Hi,
My name is Emily Lisner and a year ago I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I am now in full remission and I am blessed to have my life back. I did not know any teens going through Cancer treatments while I was sick so I often felt very lonely. Although I am better now, I would really like to talk to people I can relate to and maybe those that are still in treatment that would like a mentor that knows what they are going through. I am also in the process of starting a Teen Center at the hospital where I was treated at. I would like any insight about what your ideas would be for a Teen Center, and if the hospital’s you were treated at included one. Thank you for your time and I hope everyone who reads this will give me some much needed insight!
Hope for You Teens

Hi Guys!
My name is Sarah and I wanted to share my story with you. I’m 25 (yes I’m an old lady, I know) and I was diagnosed with ALL 20 years ago when I was five. I was in the hospital for five weeks undergoing chemo, and steriods, and other meds. I got my port and went back school and wanted to go back to the hospital. I was diagnosed in 1990 and people were very ignorant about cancer back then. I went through three more years of chemo, steriods, bone-marrow biopsies, spinal taps, and blood tests. I have learning disabilities and fine-motor dysfunction and went to a special ed school from 7th-12th grade but, I graduated from college last year and I want to go to grad school for Student Affairs, to work with college students. I’m sure you guys are questioning “is there life after cancer?”. Yes there is. You can still go to college, you can live your life.
Hugs to all you brave teens out,
Sarah
