Concern #4: Reproduction

Question 1:

If I have sex with my boyfriend, can I still get pregnant even if I don't get my period any more?

Yes, you can although it's unlikely. If you've really stopped menstruating, you've probably also stopped ovulating. But it's completely unpredictable. You could happen to ovulate at that time, so the risk is not zero for pregnancy.

We strongly advise that you continue using birth control and condoms not only to prevent possible pregnancy but to prevent STDs (sexually transmitted diseases). Safe sex is especially important when you are being treated for cancer.
